Mostly a road-trip and walkround in a cactusscape of many mini volcanos at an altitude over 3000 m.

The volcanos are 30-300 m high. Their symetric monogenic cones are a product of a single erruption.

We unfortunately did not have enough petrol to look further, because we were surprised by a petrol consumption while offroading on the way there. We were even forced to ask to buy a petrol in a bottle on the way back to Arequipa. Thankfully, people were very helpful.

What's nearby:

You can recognize Colca people of distinct etnic groups of Cabana and Collaguas by how they dress and especially their hats. In past, before it was banned, they distinguished themselves by creating different head deformations (tall and thin skulls and vs. fat and long skulls). They did this by tying two pieces of wood to the babies head until the affects were irreversible.

The photos were shot in a village near Colca Canyon.

Los Volcanos

It looks like the time stopped here.

The genius loci of the village Andagua is actually as interesting as the mini volcanoes in the valley.

We enjoyed the lazy calmness of the place and zero turists for a while:)
