Car access control

The road to Compatch is closed 9-17h, except for the off-season (middle of Apr – middle of May & beginning of Nov – beginning of Dec). During this time, only lifts and buses or accomodated can pass. On busy days, the road closes even earlier, when parking lots get full.

Cars are forbidden beyond Compatsch completely, except for accomodated. The police checks it.

Parking

• Spitzbühl lift midway: €26.5 together with the lift ticket. It's not allowed to park there overnight until 6:00.

• Compatsch: €13. The parking fee in Compatch is collected by humans. In the late afternoon, they might sometimes leave it unattended.

Punky alternative powered by an e-bike

An adventurous option is to overnight a little bit further down in the valley and e-bike up. The lift and bus don't go early enough to manage to get there before the sunrise, walking is slow and biking not much faster because of the elevation gain, so the e-bike is really the best option if you don't have an accommodation in the controlled area.
