Steep climbs & descents

These were the huts we stopped for a lunch or beer, but there's many more of them on the way.

Huts for refreshments on the way

1. Salzburg – Hirschbichl

7.5 h: 45 km 1423 m up 757 m down (4.1 h moving)

2. Hirschbichl – Gotzenalm

11.7 h: 69 km 2916 m up 2388 m down (8 h moving)

Respectable ascent. Yes, 2916 m up on 69 km! That's it.

Could be shortened by not doing the circle in Weissbach, by why we would be there not to ride it?

There is a landslide on the way down! Signage discourage from entering. Can be bypassed by couple of ten meters through a forrest with couple of big steps up/down. Check photos.

3. Gotzenalm – Carl v. Stahl Haus – Salzburg

5.2 h: 56 km 780 m up 1972 m down (3.8 h moving)

Brutally steep climb to Carl v. Stahl Haus (yet on wide biking path).

Steep, narrow, rocky trail down

Road tempo to Salzburg
